Barbara is involved with volunteering in our community as a past board member for the French Valley Baseball & Softball Association and also volunteers extensively in the schools of TVUSD where her two children have attended. During these unprecedented times, our greatest strength of a community is what will guarantee a productive educational environment and an emotionally supportive school experience.

I hope to major in Psychology with an emphasis on Sociology, and minor in Arabic. I want to contribute not only to my children’s education but to all children attending the Tanque Verde schools. This is one of the primary reasons I established my practice in Tucson after completing Law School.

Barbara and her husband are both graduates of TVHS and have both watched Temecula grow from the small ranching community of Rancho California to what we see today. I have Master of Science degree from DePaul University in Computer Information and Network Security, and I am a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker and Certified Penetration Tester.
My children are now grown. It didn’t take long before I began serving within school support organizations, as well as substitute teaching in the classrooms, allowing me to develop relationships with staff, students, and fellow parents.

In August, 2019, the District opened its first preschool, Tanque Verde Community Preschool, located at Tanque Verde Elementary School. I am very involved at TVHS, as I am part of multiple clubs and groups. As Senior Class President I want to actively foster an environment that will continue to support our students and staff. I lead our company's security requirements and design and develop security technologies, policies, processes and procedures to protect internal company information and the integrity and security of esports competition environments. The Governing Board has been elected by the community to provide leadership and citizen oversight to the district. I run my own consulting business, and I have spent twenty years working in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, focused primarily on issues of children, youth, and families. For the last twelve years, I have run the Arizona Parent Kit project, a statewide early childhood and parent education program funded by First Things First.

The TVUSD Governing Board has weathered various challenges since I moved into the area, yet has kept students and their education the focus and priority of their decisions. I share my successes of attending summer programs at Stanford University, and the University of Virginia, two state qualifications for Mock Trial, a Theater national qualification, an Arizona Girls State participant and a HOBY recipient with the TVHS community as I would not have had these opportunities available to me without their dedication. One of the reasons I moved to the Tanque Verde Valley in 2010 is because of the Tanque Verde Unified School system. My wife and I have three small children, and our family values education. She has spent countless hours volunteering in TVUSD classrooms and conference rooms since, helping teachers, tutoring students, running PTA literacy activities, being a “band mom,” serving as a choir accompanist, a member of the GATE advisory committee, and as an appointee to the Superintendent’s Parent Council. I have 15 years of direct work experience in cybersecurity, penetration testing, physical ingress/egress testing, governance and compliance, cyber warfare and defensive operations with many federal and state government organizations including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the U.S. Department of the Interior, the U.S. Department of Defense, and others. In the words of Coretta Scott King, “ "The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members”.

I left the midwest to join Intel Corporation, working in New Mexico, Arizona, and Oregon. Thank you. This past year, I had the wonderful opportunity to work as a Medical Scribe at Tucson Orthopedic Institute, where I had the chance to work with many medical professionals and gain valuable experience in the professional field that has helped to give me a perspective on what my future could look like. As a Board member, I will continue this practice, while leveraging my background to collaborate with fellow Board members and District administration and staff to provide a pathway for educational success for each student. I am a lawyer certified as a specialist in real estate law by the State Bar of Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. When my Board service is concluded, I hope others will say that I have encouraged them to be active in our community and that I have made a positive impact in the district.
